Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina has become Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new captain, having joined the club 18 months ago.

He’s very happy and excited. I think it’ll help him with his leadership on the pitch. It’s a good thing,” O’Neill said.

Lemina has a wealth of experience in football, having started his career at Lorient, Marseille, Juventus, Southampton, Galatasaray, Fulham and most recently Nice, before making 54 Premier League appearances for the Wolves
